Gender sensitization of university students – future teachers

The project will run from 10 October 2014 to 30 November 2015. The main objective of the project is therefore to increase awareness, knowledge and education of students studying at the major of  Teaching Academic Subjects and Pre-school and Elementary Education at the Faculty of Central European Studies University of Constantine the Philosopher ‘s in Nitra- future teachers of primary and secondary schools in gender issues and gender sensitization. This plans will be fulfilled primarily through four types of activities – (1) by teaching of subject  Fundamentals of gender studies at the Faculty of Central European Studies  of University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, (2) organizing discussion meetings in student clubs at universities, (3) active participation in the form of discussions and workshops in Gombaszog  summer camp organized by Hungarian youth, (4) the organization of the final conference on gender-sensitive education of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.

The project was financed with the amount of 23988,2 eur from the Fund for non-governmental organisation, wich was financed from the Financial mechanism of the EEA 2009-2014.

The fund’s manager is the Open Society Foundation. The aim of the project of Gender sensitization of university students – future teachers  is therefore to strengthen active citizenship: increase awareness, knowledge  and education.
